Perfect Pairings: Unique necklace with everyday earrings part III
For my last pairing in this round, I am lining up my Coral Frag I pendant with my Minoan earrings.
I think these two go together because they are both substantial pieces and they have the airiness of a coral piece.
Together, this pair makes a statement about your style (and perhaps about your priorities - you decide).

Perfect pairs: Artisan made jewelry earrings and necklace part II
Today I am pairing the flirty Captiva earrings with an equally flirty necklace.
The Coral Frag II necklace does have enough pizzaz on it's own; it doesn't need a big blingy earring to go with it.
I think these two pair really well together as they compliment each other so well - both flirty, but not over the top and equally eye catching. You might say they are a Perfect Pair!

Perfect Pairings: Pairing unique necklaces with earrings part I
Loofah I is a necklace with curves and circles.
Due to the graceful shape and pattern, I chose my Ocean Curls earrings to pair with this necklace. The Ocean Curl earrings are curved and match very well with Loofah I.
I think they look great together.

Pairing unique necklaces with everyday earrings
Last week, I talked about how to choose earrings to wear with one of a kind necklaces.
This week, I show you three statement necklaces, perfectly paired with some of my favourite earrings.
Try to guess which earrings I will pair with each necklace! Then stay tuned to see what I choose...

How to choose earrings to wear with one of a kind necklaces
You have purchased a fantastic new art jewelry necklace. You love it. Now what earrings do you pair with it?
Go to the designer you purchased your new treasure from. Do they have earrings you can choose from? Look for something that is versatile enough to go with other pieces of jewelry or to wear on their own.
For example, I would pair the Minoan earrings with this Coral Frag necklace. Both are inspired by coral and are handmade in a similar fashion, so have the same style to them.
Now, wear them whenever you feel like jazzing up your day!
Keep the seaside dreams alive with these four necklaces
Each of these necklaces is inspired by coral reefs.
They are meant to bring to mind the beauty and diversity of the reef. And to warm your bones as you dream of your next seaside vacation. Whenever that may be...
In the meantime, why not sign up and be first to know when I release additional coral inspired pieces to join these four? I am working on some patterned pieces, coming soon.

Don't you forget about my Isles jewelry Collection!
Ok, playing around with the '80's pop culture reference! But it's true - don't forget about my made-to-order bronze bead collection.
It's been almost a year since I launched the Isles Collection and although I love my one of a kind creations, I have a soft spot for the simplicity of the Isles pieces.
There is really something for everyone in the collection - from a classic necklace to earrings that suit your personality. Go have a look!
{PS - you are welcome for the Simple Minds earworm...lalala,lalala,lalalala...}
A touch of whimsical inspiration for this necklace
It's true! My Loofah I necklace is indeed inspired by an actual loofah sponge! As an artist, I never really know when inspiration will strike me. Sometimes it's something I see, or have been thinking about for a long time, like the ocean or driftwood.
Other times, it's something I see regularly, but for whatever reason, I suddenly see it in a new light and, boom, an idea sparks! This is what happened with my loofah sponge, sitting on the shelf in my bathroom. I saw the end, with the chambers, and the spongey part with the holes and thought, hmm, that would be a fun design.
And Loofah I was born!

What does shipwrecked jewelry treasure look like?
When I think of shipwrecks, I remember going to an exhibit about the Titanic and all the items that ended up at the bottom of the North Atlantic ocean.
It was quite interesting, what survived in the depths after the sinking.
Perhaps some of the jewelry looks like these pieces?

Sunken treasure jewelry
In this post, I mentioned that I was doing my annual California training.
My fabulous mentor, Hadar Jacobson, taught us some fantastic techniques.
These pieces are made from steel with added bronze.
And to me, they bring to mind sunken treasure!

3 necklaces in my Shoreline Collection for beach lovers
My Shoreline Collection is really made for beach lovers of all kinds.
There are seashells to adorn the mermaids out there, like Barnacle I.
Or shapely driftwood-like pendants that bring to mind windswept beach panoramas (like we have here on Vancouver Island).
Right now it is a small collection that will grow over time. If you want to be first to shop new Shoreline Collection additions, then sign up for my email list below. Insiders always get the scoop!
What is a jewelry family?
Jewelry can actually belong to many families. There is the class of jewelry (mine is art jewelry). There is the material type or the inspiration (mine is ocean inspired). Or even the type of jewelry (necklace vs earrings for example).
Then there is the way jewellers and artisans organize their art - into collections! While I started with a complete collection of my beads in the Isles Collection, I have since been releasing one of a kind work that will ultimately fit into various collections in my mind.
Today, meet the Coral Reef Collection family - inspired by the ecosystem in the ocean.
