Yes, you can wear bright clothing for autumn
It seems as though the summer is winding down here. It's dark when I get up for work these days and cooler too. I have been noticing sweaters and darker, fall-like colours appearing in clothing...
So, I suppose I am a bit of a clothing rebel. I wear what I want and am not bound by seasonal rules or not really by fashion rules. Today, I chose pink!
Copper goes well with pink; it's in the same colour family, although a coppery colour is suspiciously like autumn. But my pendant has blues and greens and is lively.

Jewelry journaling
I like to plan by physically planning things out in my SpellBinding journal.
Sometimes that involves brainstorming by writing down everything in my head. There are times when I have too many ideas bumping into each other up there and I need to get them out.
Other times, it involves a sketch or two and a mind map. That is what I am about to do here - mind map out all the collections I am planning.
Earrings and pendant are prototypes for upcoming collections.

Rise Sister Rise
It's no coincidence that my creative process involves transformation. Fire burns away what is unnecessary. What was brittle and fragile becomes strong. What was dull and rough becomes refined and beautiful. Elegantly Audacious.
This time around with my creations, feels transformative. I am regenerating from the wreckage I talk about here - rising from the ashes of that time. I have renewed spirit and a different perspective on life, on my creative process and my jewelry.
My jewelry has become my offering to you for your own transformation. Maybe not as dramatic as mine has been. But rising from your life as you have known and transforming into life as you want it to be.
Rise Sister Rise
Yes, you CAN wear jewelry on casual days!
Today is a bit grey for August, when we usually have bright sunshine and blue ocean. Often, you can see Mt. Baker. Not today. Instead we have grey on grey. You can still see the islands out in the Haro straight, though.
I am also in grey - just casual, comfy walking around the neighbourhood gear.
Why not spice up the grey a bit? So I threw on my oceany copper pendant.
Yes, you most certainly can wear jewelry on casual day.

Perfect patterned metal pendants and earring
More samples of upcoming pieces when my collections start releasing. These are patterned metal, made from bronze, copper and steel. I wanted to show how fantastic the patterned pieces look together, when the shape is the same flowing curl. I have shown off the earrings before - on their own and with a different pendant.
The flowing shape reminds me of a wave or of a whale's back. The first collections will all feature this shape, which I am calling Ocean Currents.
First release coming soon. Want in? Insiders shop first on any new collection release.
Elegantly Audacious Pendants
As I age, I become more of myself. When we are young and starting out in life, we are full of hope, grand ideas and are somewhat gangly, like a colt running for the first time.
Life has knocked me down more than I care to admit. And yet, each time I grow stronger from the experience, digging deep into my own treasure chest of hope and skill and finding my way back to the surface again.
And now, I know I can choose my path:
* I choose elegance - beauty that is graceful in it's simplicity.
* I choose to be bold, spirited, daring - audacious.
My jewelry represents those who choose strength and beauty - those who are Elegantly Audacious.

Bronze Earrings and rainy day
I am working hard in the studio during August so I can launch my first collection in September. These bronze earrings are waiting for their finishing.
Because I am in the studio, I don't mind that it is raining today. Plus we could use it to dampen the potential for forest fires, which thankfully we do not see many here on Vancouver Island.

Versatile copper enamel pendant
I am loving how the light changes the colour of this copper and enamel pendant. Here it looks blue.
And then see the blue green.
And then with some beach treasures from Prince Edward Island, green, like the sea glass.
Which makes some sense, since enamel is glass fused to metal. It is one of my favourite ways to add colour to metal.

Confessions of a slipper clad jewelry artist
I confess! I wear slippers in my studio. Mostly because they are comfortable and keep my feet cozy. And really, even though I am working hard on getting my collections out to you, very few of my tools are hazardous to my toes.
These are my favourite slippers, from Padraig Cottage. And for my second confession - I have a pair I wear at my day job too!

Steel jewelry and summer blues
I am partial to blues right now. All oceany and beachy under the summer sun. I am loving my steel pendant and earrings with sea green and ocean blue enamels. Can you feel the tradewind breezes?
Both of these are prototypes for my upcoming collections.

Sunny studio morning
I love how the sun was streaming in to my studio space this morning before I began my work.
Since I moved in October, I have a larger studio space. It allows me to have projects going at all stages of completion, which is perfect for my pace of working.
Right now, I am planning to have my store open in mid-September. Sign up to my list and YOU can be one of the first to shop my new collection.
Wearing patterns (jewelry) with patterns (clothes)
I like to wear my patterned metal pendant with my Parsley and Sage tunic.
Even with all the patterns, to me, it goes together beautifully.
So go ahead, be Elegantly Audacious and mix up your patterns!
PS: I hear Parsley and Sage are coming out with a Leona tunic...gonna have to check that out.
